The Crooked River has been fishing well

6-23-2023
Fly and Field Outfitters

The Crooked River has been fishing well. Caddis are still around and fish have still been taking elk hairs, x-caddis, and foam body caddis well. Nymphing has been hot as well with two-bits, frenchies, spanish bullets, nitro caddis, ray charles and jigged leeches. Swinging around a bunny leech or small bugger is a fun way to approach the crooked this time of year as well. ODFW did an electroshocking on the crooked a few days ago and we heard that they saw numerous fish in the 18+ range so there are still some bigguns around.
