West Clear Creek Fishing Report

Access to the lower portions of the creek is open near Clear Creek Campground (open) FR 626 and Bullpen Campground (open) FR 215. Access to the upper portions of the creek is closed for the winter, including FR 81 and FR 142. Smallmouth bass are unlimited harvest in West Clear Creek. Roundtail chub are often caught in sections of the creek; please release them unharmed. The limit is 4 trout. West Clear Creek near Camp Verde streamflow peaked this week at 9,560 cfs on 3/16/2023. Stream flow has since dropped to 6,660 cfs on 3/22/2023. Stream temperature was 41.36 F on 3/22/2023. Average base flow is about 15-17 cfs for West Clear Creek. The streamflow of the creek is fluctuating daily due to runoff from the melting snow. As a result, West Clear Creek may be running turbid (dirty). Fishing under these conditions can be challenging.
