The Little Truckee River is flowing low and slow right now
8-26-2022
Mountain Hardware & Sports
The Little Truckee River is flowing low and slow right now, around 39 cubic feet per second. Water temperatures are right around 60 degrees here. Currently, there is some algae flow coming off the rocks, but water clarity is still clear in most sections.
FLOWS: Between Boca and Stampede 40 CFS
Tips for the Week
Anglers should be sneaky when fishing the Little Truckee River. The lower water levels here allow the fish to spook easily. With algae an issue in some parts also, nymphing is tough to do at the Little Truckee River. The most productive techniques for anglers right now have been using hopper droppers or dry fly fishing.
Suggested Flies
JuJu Pale Morning Duns, Zebra Midges in several colors, Grey and Brown Hopper patterns, or small cadd
