Fish Report for 7-22-2022
Fishing was excellent last week
7-22-2022
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
The lake held near 33 percent of capacity, and water temps have been in the upper seventies. Fishing was excellent last week with anglers reporting bass taking topwater, reaction baits, and finesse baits. Most anglers hit the lake early with poppers, walking baits and buzz baits. After the topwater bite dies anglers have been switching to drop shot or Carolina rigged soft plastics. Bass and striper have been boiling periodically throughout the lake, and anglers targeted them with topwater lures, jerkbaits, and Flukes. Long casts and stealth have been the best way to fish the boils. Striper also fell for cut baits in 25 to 65 feet of water.
