7-8-2022
Fly and Field Outfitters
The Lower Deschutes has been fishing great. Our guides have had some awesome days out there over the last few weeks and have reported good caddis action on top. Fish have been looking up most days for caddis and having a variety tan/olive/black is beneficial. Nymphing has been great as well with two-bits, caddis pupae, jig leeches, and rainbow warriors to name a few. Swinging soft hackles is also a fun way to get some grabs. The river is in good shape and the fish are active so get out there and have some fun!
Recommended Dries: Elk Hair Caddis 14-18, March brown #12-14, Hackle Stacker PMD #14-18, Parachute PMD #14-18, Hackle Stacker Baetis #16-20, Parachute Baetis #16-20.
Recommended Nymphs: Jimmy Legs #8 Black or Brown, Trout Retreiver black or brown #8-10, Jigged Hares Ear #14-16, Jigged Pheasant Tail #14-16, Psycho Prince #14-16, Duracell Jig #14-18, Copper John #14-18
