Fish Report for 7-8-2022

The Metolius continues to fish well

7-8-2022
Fly and Field Outfitters

The Metolius continues to fish well. Nymphing has been the most consistent but good caddis hatches have been making for some fun dry fly options as well. A Few golden stones are around as well and fishing a dry-dropper setup this time of year can be very effective.  For nymphs a golden stone trailed by 10-12” of tippet and a small caddis or mayfly pupae is a great method. Swinging sculpin streamers is a good way to target larger trout. For the bulls fishing big streamers around structure is the way to go. The fish are active and the upcoming weather looks good so get out there and get after some fish.
