Trout action was very good again this week with anglers using Power Bait ( especially rainbow, garlic, salmon peach and orange), night crawlers, jigs and lures to catch limits. Lots of trout were caught and many were near or over two pounds. Hot spots include the grassy point and the eastern logged shore north to the pump house of lake 3 as well as the northern and eastern shores of lake 2. Catfish are hitting mackerel and Power Bait along the the western shore of lake 3 and eastern and northern shores of lake 2. Anglers report fair bass action on spinner bait and senkos on the northern shore of lake 3 and the south eastern shore of lake 2 near the wall.

The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round.
This year the Lakes' hatchery is amping up the weekly trout stockings with bigger fish overall.

Prize Day at Jess Ranch Lakes
Saturday, October 31, 2009, will be " Prize Day" at Jess Ranch Lakes. Limit fishing pass holders will compete for tackle, bait, free passes and lakes' signature items.

The Adult Division ( 13 years and older) will give prizes for the top five heaviest trout, the heaviest limit and the top two smallest trout. The Child ( 12 years and younger) Division will give prizes for the top six heaviest trout and the top two smallest trout.

(Only one entry per angler per category.) The day will also include door prizes, a raffle and more. Since it's also Halloween, anglers are encouraged to wear their costumes. Our staff will pick the top three winners! The competition ends at 2pm on October 31, 2009 and all prizes will be given at that time . Regular admission fees and rules apply.
