Shogun - Wonderful Day Along the Baja Coast

10-17-2009
Bruce A. Smith

It was wonderful day here along the Baja coast, the weather was hot and the fishing was even hotter! Its after these kind of days that anglers wake up the next morning with line cuts, sore hands, stiff muscles and memory\'s that last a lifetime. The day started early by arriving at set destination by 06:30, then the first drift yielded three yellow fin tuna. After that the next five drifts were full speed on yellow tail, until about 10:00, when I just had to pull the plug on the yellow tail. We had enough. Then it was onto the yellowfin we stumbled across in the morning and yes those wanted to bite too. Granted it wasn\'t fifth gear, wide open, it was darn good fishing on yellowfin in the 20 to 40 pound class. A great way to wrap up our fishing time for the trip. Concerning the upcoming trips of November 4th(Hi\'s tackle ten day) and 14th(Bob Sands ten day). They are a go, for sure, even with the short amount of people on them. If you want to get on a light load long trip, call Andrea at the office 619 226 8030 and come fishing with us. Big Fish Happen, Bruce A. Smith

We arrived at the rocks approx. 10:00 and proceeded to look around. \\\"Dorardo Dave\\\" Van Voorhis promptly stopped the boat with a wahoo jig strike, which unfortunately was to be our only one for the day. After that we happened into a large school of dorado, that kept us busy for a little while. Then it was on to tuna fishing. While we sat on the anchor for the remainder of the day, the tuna bit on a slow steady...... Read More
