Mazatlan Fish Report- The Aries Sportfishing Fleet
10-1-2009
Larry Edwards
The offshore fishing for this time of year was extraordinarily slow
and for whatever reason, unexplainable. The temps are good, clarity
is excellent, moon phase is fine, but still, a very slow offshore
bite when sailfish and black & blue marlin should be the everyday
action throughout the area. The overall fish counts for 14 days
fished reflected 2 sailfish released and 12 dorado for their efforts.
Mazatlan Climate: Mostly cloudy with temps from 75-92 and humid.
Sea Conditions: Good temps and clarity and little swell with light
surface breezes and temps at 85-86 throughout the area.
Best Fishing Area: None reported. The boats are fishing in all
directions from Northwest to the South and there is no fish
concentration in any location.
Best Lure/Bait: The two sailfish were taken o slow-trolled rigged
mullet.
