Fishing has slowed down at Donner Lake with the cold temperatures arriving in the area

Fishing has slowed down at Donner Lake with the cold temperatures arriving in the area. Some fish are being caught at the boat ramp still using live bait, powerbait, worms, or spoons. Live bait is performing best this time of year. Anglers should fish everything off the bottom because the fish will not move far to bite.

Donner Lake is currently at 68% capacity.

Boca Reservoir: Boca is fishing well for shore anglers using powerbait and worms
Stampede Reservoir: Anglers at Stampede Reservoir are doing well trolling for rainbows or cutthroats
Prosser Reservoir: Prosser Reservoir is fishing well from shore
Jackson Meadows Reservoir: Most likely accessible now due to the warm temperatures

Stampede Reservoir: Any boat over 20 feet is not recommended for launching into Stampede
Prosser Reservoir: Prosser Reservoir is probably the best fishery in the area right now
Jackson Meadows Reservoir: One of the better fishing reservoirs in the area right now
Truckee River: The flows on the Truckee River are minimal from the upper river to Boca Reservoir
Little Truckee River: Anglers should concentrate on fishing the deeper pools
