The Fall River has fished well over the past couple of warm weeks. The weather is turning fast and it looks like the next two weeks will be cold and snowy. The fish will likely react to the cold by reducing their active periods. Late morning to late afternoon are the most important fishing times. The blue wing olive hatch usually pops off around 12 or 1, on cooler days expect size 18 - 22, although there may be some 16s as well. Midges can occasionally bring fish to the surface as well. Midges and baetis are also the best subsurface flies. In the winter, size 22s are your best friend at the Fall River. When the small stuff fails, try small balanced leeches and streamers, usually, they receive some attention. If the forecast is correct, the Fall River will be getting some snow very soon. I would head out there before it gets too deep.
