Lets Talk Hook-up
6-5-2009
Pete Gray
After a great trip to Dove Island Lodge in Sitka, Alaska for Pete, and a super trip to Panama for Rick with Cass Tours, it's back to local fishing and things are really starting to heat up. At San Clemente Island, several spots of yellowtail are there, and they are starting to bite. The Freedom checked in with limits early in the week, and the good fishing continues. Along the coast, the spring bass bite continues with barracuda fishing on and off. There is a great spread yellowtail off La Jolla, but they are reluctant to bite. At the Coronado Islands, yellowtail are seen and caught every day, but again are reluctant to bite full speed. There are spots of albacore and bluefin tuna in 1 1/2 day range, and as the water warms, this fishing should go off soon.
