Cooler temperatures brought more anglers to Truxtun Lake

Cooler temperatures brought more anglers to Truxtun Lake, and their reports indicated better fishing overall. Bass anglers caught largemouth with Whopper Ploppers, and weedless frogs first thing in the morning. After that creature baits and Texas rigged plastic worms fished near the weed beds got some attention from the bass. There were reports of a few crankbait fish as well. Catfish have been on the slower side, but they normally go for smelly baits like cut sardines, chicken liver, or dip bait. Bluegill have been good for anglers fishing redworms or nightcrawler pieces under a bobber.
