8-20-2021
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
With low water levels fishing has been fair at Truxtun lake, and anglers are using topwater and finesse baits for bites. Weedless frogs and buzzbaits worked near weed beds have been getting some action in the mornings and evenings. Otherwise, a very slow to dead stick finesse presentation has been the ticket. Senkos, drop shot, and creature baits have been fooling bass when anglers work them slowly. Catfish anglers reported bites using dip bait, anchovies, and garlic nightcrawlers, and bluegill will eat any live worm fished under a bobber.
