Trout action was very good with anglers using Power Bait ( especially salmon peach, orange, rainbow and spring green), night crawlers, jigs and lures to catch their fish. Most trout were near or over two pounds. Hot spots included the eastern shore from the log to the pump house of lake 3 as well as the northern and eastern shores of lake 2. Catfish are biting night crawlers and shrimp ( and Power Bait--garlic and corn yellow--Anglers who are fishing for trout). Hot spots included the eastern shore to wall of of lake 2 and the western shore of lake 3 near the pump house. Angler are reporting good Bass action on both lakes on senkos and drop shot. Hot spots included the northern end of lake 3 as well as the eastern and southern shores of lake 2 especially near the wall. Bluegill are active with anglers using meal worms and small jigs to catch fish up to 2 lbs. Hot spots for Bluegill include the northern shore near the pump house to the western shore near the bridge of lake 3 and the eastern and western shores of lake 2.

#1 Merv Shandor of Victorville scored his 6 lbs 2 ozs rainbow on a night crawler from the northern shore of lake 2 near the inlets at Jess Ranch Lakes.
#2 The Tarpley Family of Covina caught their limit of catfish using night crawlers while fishing the southeastern shore of lake 2 near the wall at Jess Ranch Lakes.

Catches of the Week:
Merv Shandor of Victorville scored his 6 lbs 2 ozs rainbow on a night crawler from the northern shore of lake 2 near the inlets. Cerritos angler, Zach Stauffer, reeled in 4 lbs 5 ozs and 5 lbs 1 ozs rainbows from the northern shore of lake 2 near the inlets using a Panther Martin trout lure. Don Davis of Adelanto caught a 3 lbs 14 ozs trout on orange Zeke's dough bait near the bridge on the western shore of lake 3. Jackie Garcia of Hesperia caught a 4 lbs 12 ozs rainbow on salmon peach Power Bait near from the eastern logged shore of lake 3. Andy Gates of Apple Valley used a meal worm and night crawler to catch his 3 lbs 8 ozs and 4 lbs 4 ozs rainbows from the northern shore of lake 2 near the inlets. Chris Taplow of Santa Ana caught a 4 lbs 2 ozs rainbow using an orange power worm from the eastern shore of lake 3. Mark Jenson of Upland caught is 3 lbs 2 ozs trout from the western shore of lake 3 near the pump house using salmon peach Power Bait.

The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round. We will also stock 1000 pounds of catfish every Thursday throughout the summer.

This year the Lakes' hatchery is amping up the weekly trout stockings with bigger fish overall.
