Both lakes are looking good this week after our crew applied biological controls on the mat. We'll continue to maintenance the lakes throughout the summer to keep them in top condition for our anglers. Trout action was very good on both lakes with anglers using Power Bait (especially salmon peach, spring green and rainbow) night crawlers, jigs and lures to catch limits. Most trout were near or over 2 pounds. Hot spots included the eastern shore, grassy point and the western shore near the pump house of lake 3 as well the northern and eastern shores of lake 2. Anglers are reporting good bass action on both lakes on senkos and drop shot. Hot spots include the northern shore of lake 3 and the the southeastern shore of lake 2 near the wall. Bluegill are active and hitting meal worms and small jigs. Hot spots include the northern shore near the pump house of lake 3 as well as the eastern shore near the wall of lake 2. Anglers enjoyed good catfish action on both lakes using night crawlers, shrimp and mackerel. Most catfish are near or over 2 pounds. Hot spots include the eastern and southern shores of lake 2 as well as the western shore from the pump house to the eastern shore of lake 3.

Attached Pic: Ontario angler, Sam Guthrie scored a 7 lbs 8 ozsrainbow and a limit that weighed 14 lbs 3 ozs. He used a chartreuse Power Worm and fished the eastern logged shore of lake 3 at Jess Ranch Lakes.

Hal Jacobson of Covina caught a 3 lbs 8 ozs trout using rainbow Power Bait from the eastern shore of lake 2. Karl Miller of Rialto reeled in a 4 lbs 2 ozs rainbow on spring green Power Bait from the western shore of lake 2. Bob Brumpton of Apple Valley caught a limit that weighed 13 lbs 8 ozs that included a 4 lbs 4 ozs rainbow. He used salmon peach Power bait and fished the eastern shore of lake3. Apple Valley angler, George Frasier used Power Worms to catch a limit that weighed 8 lbs 7 ozs from the eastern shore of lake 3. Michael Anthony of Upland caught his 3 lbs 6 ozs rainbow on a Power Mouse from the western shore of lake 2. Klaus Grunheid of Colton reeled in a 4 lbs 6 ozs rainbow to finish his limit. He used night crawlers and fished the eastern shore of lake 3. Miguel Rebollo of Victorville caught a 4 lbs 1 ozs trout using a night crawler from the eastern shore of lake 3. Apple Valley angler, Andy Gates caught 3 lbs 8 ozs and 4 lbs 4 ozs rainbows on a meal worm and night crawler while fishing the northern shore of lake 2.

The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round. We will also stock 1000 pounds of catfish every Thursday throughout the summer.

This year the Lakes' hatchery is amping up the weekly trout stockings with bigger fish overall.
