Pedro Pangas Fish Report

5-28-2009
Pete Hills

This fish report is from Pete Hillis, reporting out of Pedro's Pangas, San Quintin, Baja Mexico for the week ending 5/28/09.

We had six boats out this week. The weather has been really good to us--we only had one day of wind mid-week. Sam Montoya from Las Cruces, New Mexico and Mike Diamond from San Diego, California fished the 240 spot on the Pelicano with Captain Miguel. They loaded up on reds, six large white fish and one yellowtail (16 lbs). We also had Richard Allen and his group fished with Captain Pato on the Calimar and loaded up on rock cod and ling cod and 2 nice yellowtail also at the 240.

We are seeing more and more of the yellowtail which should take us into the summer months with some nice catches.

The wind came from the south for one day which the captains think is a good sign. Two boats out--both boats came for bottom fish and weren't disappointed. Big reds, lings, and white fish. Hope for better report next week. ...... Read More

But in a phone report this morning, Captain Hector reports the winds finally subsided today. Boats that did get out fished the 240 spot for a lot of large bonita and usual limits of rock cod and ling cod. Because the winds have died down, I hope for a better fish...... Read More
