Puerto Morelos Fish Report- The Marina El Cid, Cancun to Cozumel Area
5-14-2009
Larry Edwards
Fleet Manager, Armando Gutierrez, reported in for a very slow fishing
week due to a lack of anglers and offshore fishing charters. They
provided 5 charters for the week and all but one were short fishing
days. The overall counts reflected 1 sailfish, 9 dorado, 1 king
mackerel, 1 barracuda and 1 amberjack for their efforts.
PM Climate: Partly cloudy days with temps that varied from 75 nights
to 88 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Stable at 83 degrees throughout the area, but
surface winds have been making the fishing more difficult with
average tropical breezes at 14-20 knots.
Best Bait/Lure: Rigged ballyhoo was the hot bait for the fish taken
and included the sailfish.
