A fine late season three day run overall with Captain Blake Wasano mixing up the catching options heading below in search of yellowfin and yellowtail offshore on day one and out west for Bluefin day two. Both decisions produced results the best of which finished the voyage on a strong note as Captain Wasano mixed it up with his colleagues out west proving his ability to compete at a journeyman level amongst seasoned local Captains. There was never a doubt in my mind.
Wrapping it up this morning our beloved Royal Star will be dockside this week for the first time since mid June. Never allowing an opportunity to go to waste we will spend a few days tending to various maintenance projects to set the next voyage departing Saturday on a foundation for success. Photo today features Royal Star angler Josh Alpert with a good example of the average grade yellowfin and bluefin tuna available during this run. Plenty of the bigger boys were around; enticing them to bite was another story. Look for more photos to be posted as the week progresses.
