Trout bite was up and down all week with anglers using Power Bait ( especially garlic, salmon peach and orange) night crawlers and jigs to catch their fish. Many trout were near or over 2 pounds. Hot spots included the eastern, northern and western shores of lake 3 as well as the southern and northern shores of lake 2. Anglers report pre-spawn Bass action on both lakes on senkos and drop shot with many over 3 pounds.

Pic #2: Washington State angler, Charla Wade, caught her 4 lbs 3 ozs trout on a Rappala at the Pump House of lake 3 at Jess Ranch Lakes. Her fishing partner, Bill Adams of Hesperia reeled in three nice rainbows-- two that weighed 3 lbs 13 ozs and a 3 lbs 5 ozs. Adams trout were caught on garlic Power Bait near the Pump House of Lake 3.

Pic # 3: Joshua Tree angler, Ted Tauchi, scored 4 lbs 4 ozs, 3 lbs 9 ozs and 3 lbs trout to limit on a Thomas Buoyant, Lip Ripperz worm and a bubblegum Power Worm from the northern shore of lake 2 at Jess Ranch Lakes.

Catches of the Week: Joshua Tree angler, Ted Tauchi, scored 4 lbs 4 ozs, 3 lbs 9 ozs and 3 lbs trout to limit on a Thomas Buoyant, Lip Ripperz worm and a bubblegum Power Worm from the northern shore of lake 2. Dave Wolfe of Upland caught his 4 lbs 4 ozs and 3 lbs 5 ozs rainbows on a natural Power Worm from the north shore of lake 2. Washington State angler, Charla Wade, caught her 4 lbs 3 ozs trout on a Rappala at the Pump House of lake 3. Bill Adams of Hesperia reeled in three nice rainbows-- two that weighed 3 lbs 13 ozs and a 3 lbs 5 ozs. All were caught on garlic Power Bait near the Pump House of Lake 3. Victorville angler, Jon Adams, caught 3 lbs 15 ozs and 5 lbs rainbows on yellow and green Power Bait while fishing the southeastern shore of lake 2. Jason Ocull Sr. of Phelan caught a limit that included 4 lbs 2 ozs , 3 lbs 13 ozs and 3 lbs 2 ozs rainbows while his son Jason Ocull Jr. limited with 3 lbs 1 ozs, 3 lbs 6 ozs and 2 lbs 14 ozs rainbow. They both fished the inlets of lake 2 and used salmon peach Power Bait. Matt Hendricks of Corona caught a 4 lbs 5 ozs trout on rainbow Power Bait while fishing the western shore of lake 3. Jose Vasquez of Victorville reeled in a 4 lbs 12 ozs rainbow using a mini jig on the western shore of lake 2.

This year the Lakes' hatchery is amping up the weekly trout stockings with bigger fish overall.
