Lingcod Were Snapping Good Today

Dockside Charters Staff
The Dockside fleet headed out on a very nice ocean this morning. Initially the bite was a little slow but they kept at it and ended up well. Not a limit catch day for all but decent catches and some very nice Ling Cod came to the boats. Crabbing was very good for most while others crabbing in a different area did poorly by comparison.
The Coho season is closed. It will open up for non-selective September 4th and will be open each Friday-Saturday through September or until the quota is reached. Non-selective means any fish you get to the boat of legal length is yours to keep.
ODFW announced a change in bag limits and species retention. Effective 7-20-20 the Rockfish bag limit has been raised to 7 per person per day from the previous 5. Retention of any of the nearshore complex of Copper, Quillback and China Rockfish is now zero.
The Online Reservation Service has been reactivated for your convenience.
There have been two more additions to the All-Depth Halibut openers. July 16-18 and July 30-Aug 1. Get your name in the hat early, we have had really good results with fish on the majority of trips for all fishermen and a very good grade at that. After Sept 1st retention of Ling Cod and Rockfish will be allowed with Halibut.
Running 5-hour bottom Fishing and crabbing and 1 and 2-hour Whale Watching Trips daily, weather permitting.
