Looks like big changes for the better as the next wave of offshore bluefin and yellowfin stage down below. In superb weather we head forth on the annual Island tackle 1.5 day intro to long range special with an eager group of mixed novice and experience anglers ready and rarin’ to go. Reports from the grounds today are all good; lots of school size fish in a biting mood. In sharp contrast to their finicky older brothers and sisters above biting mode is exactly our tune. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Beyond this trip we begin our first series of longer voyages this Saturday. In preparation for these longer runs I want to emphasize again the importance of hand washing, face covering when in close proximity to others, meticulous hygiene, and extremely astute self monitoring in advance of, and during your voyage. We have fine tuned our on board and between voyages sanitizing routines and have one hundred percent confidence in the safety of our platform. We must ask everyone to do their part to ensure the safety of Royal Star anglers and crew alike. If anyone has any symptoms of cold or flu during the two weeks in advance of your voyage, or if you have been in contact with anyone who has had such symptoms, please stay home for the good of yourself and others. This is a serious responsibility that we all must respect and adhere to with grave understanding.

I do not want to harp on this topic or propagate fear; we are all getting pounded with reports about the Covid-19 virus 24/7. That said we must all take the times and information at hand seriously while living and enjoying our lives to the fullest. Like it or not now more than ever we are dependent upon one another to maintain our good health and safety. Our sincerest gratitude is extended to all Royal Star anglers soon to head forth on their annual voyages. Thank you for your confidence, passion for fishing, and cooperation in these new protocols. Enjoy today’s image and lets get back to fishing!
