This fish report is from Pete Hillis, reporting out of Pedro's Pangas, San Quintin, Baja Mexico for the week ending February 12, 2009.


Heavy winds and rains kept most boats in. Boats that did brave the weather and remained out returned with a good count of nice yellowtail brought in at the 15 fathom spot and a few nice lings off the slide.

Hope weather clears for a better report next week. Our rock cod fishing is always good as usual.

Sorry guys, not much to report. We had only 1 boat out this week. Sam Lunde snuck down from Solano Beach, California and fished one day with Captain Hector on the Paloma. He brought in only 2 yellowtail, but loaded up on good eating fish (rock cod and lings). Weather has been absolutely beautiful--no winds and very calm seas. Thanks, ...... Read More

Things are still a little slow. Strong winds came up Sunday but it completely stopped by Wednesday morning when I left for the U.S. There is still a decent yellowtail bite and good rock cod and whitefish bite. Daisy and Adam Ramirez from Santa Barbara got 3 yellowtail (15 to 18 lbs), 6 extra large whitefish and 7 salmon grouper, fishing with Captain Hector on the Paloma.
