Sorry guys, not much to report. We had only 1 boat out this week. Sam
Lunde snuck down from Solano Beach, California and fished one day with
Captain Hector on the Paloma. He brought in only 2 yellowtail, but
loaded up on good eating fish (rock cod and lings).
Weather has been absolutely beautiful--no winds and very calm seas.

1-29-2009Things are still a little slow. Strong winds came up Sunday but it completely stopped by Wednesday morning when I left for the U.S. There is still a decent yellowtail bite and good rock cod and whitefish bite. Daisy and Adam Ramirez from Santa Barbara got 3 yellowtail (15 to 18 lbs), 6 extra large whitefish and 7 salmon grouper, fishing with Captain Hector on the Paloma. Sam Lunde from the famous Tidewater Tavern in the Solano Beach area of San Diego loaded up on nice yellowtail, big bonita, rock cod and ling cod. They fished 2 days with Captain Hector on the Paloma. Most were caught at the 240 and 15 fathom spots using live bait at times and blue/white jigs. Things are still slow right now but for those who want to travel down, we are offering 10% on all boats. ...... Read More
