Cabo San Lucas Fish Report- The Gaviota Sportfishing Fleet and Fish Cabo Fleet

The billfish bonanza just keeps on going and took an upward spiral this past week, following the full moon. This is just incredible fishing for the Pacific striped marlin as the boats continue to average 3 billfish per boat day and some of the highliner's were really into full swing. The "Gaviota VIII", skippered by Captain Juan Dominguez, was back on top this week with 30 billfish for 5 days fished, with all but two released. Overall combined fish counts for a total of 57 days fished reflected 178 stripers, (165 releases) 1 mako shark, 1 sailfish released and 42 dorado.

Cabo Climate: Some partly cloudy days with temps from 60 at nights to 83 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Excellent! Temps from 74 at the Golden Gate Bank and rising to 76 at the Gorda Bank, with mostly calm surface conditions.

Best Fishing Area: Golden Gate is back on fire this week, with awesome billfish acttion.

Best Lure/Bait: The mackerel have been best for the billfish, but fair numbers of billfish taken on the artificials

Live Bait Supply: A good mix of caballitos and mackerel, with mackerel replenishment at the Golden Gate easy to do.

The full moon had taken it's toll this past week at Ixtapa- Zihuatanejo and according to Captain Temo Verboonen, the fish bit less and less through the full moon days.
