The high desert was beautiful this week with cool, sunny days and light breezes. Trout action was fair to very good on both lakes this week with anglers using Power Bait ( especially chartreuse, spring green and salmon peach), night crawlers. jigs and lures to catch limits. Good size trout were seen on most stringers with most near or over 2 pounds and many over 3 pounds. Hot spots included the eastern shore from the log to the pump house and the grassy point of lake 3 as well as the northern and eastern shores of lake 2.

Catches of the Week: Nine year old Fullerton angler, Kurt Kaihara used a white jig to catch his 9 lbs 13 ozs rainbow. The young angler fished the eastern logged shore of lake 3 with his dad and friends. Jason Ocull of Phelan scored a 6 lbs 14ozs and 5 lbs 2 ozs rainbows using yellow Power Bait on the eastern logged shore of lake 3. Apple Valley angler, George Frasier, reeled in 6 lbs 6 ozs and 5 lbs 6 ozs trout on orange Power Worms near the bridge on the western shore of lake 3. Robert Omohundro of Fullerton caught his 5 lbs rainbow on a Panther Martin while fishing the western shore of lake 3. El Monte angler, William Torres, reeled in a 7 lbs 6 ozs rainbow using a silver jerkit on the eastern shore of lake 2. Riverside angler, LLoyd Harrison, caught a 13 lbs 14 ozs limit of trout using Power Bait, night crawlers and jigs. Bob Tasco of Green Valley Lake caught a 5 lbs 12 ozs rainbow on a shad tube jig on the western shore of lake 2. Fontana angler, Rey Huerta Jr. reeled in 4 lbs 10 oozs and 3 lbs 14 ozs rainbows using a chartruese crappie jig on the eastern shore of lake 3. Romain Washington Jr. of Victorville scored a 5 lbs rainbow on Salmon Peach Power Bait while fishing the grassy point of lake 3.
