Water Conditions: Great

The water is gin clear and the flows are almost perfect. Cold mornings are making for tough fishing 'tll the sun hits the water.

I would hit the mountain in the morning for a few hours and wait 'til 10 or later to hit the creek.

Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Good

The surfaced road to the Interpretive Center and beyond as far as gate to Hot Creek is plowed. The access road off the main road to the Interpretive Center and the road beyond Hot Creek Ranch is packed snow. Truck with chains or 4WD required. The gate to the canyon section is closed so you will have a little walk.

The conditins are unchanged. BWO hatch is day to day. The Midges hatches are in the afternoon. Most of the fish are feeding subsurface. Try using small Midges, Mayflies and Scuds.

Recommended Flies:

-NYMPHS-
#18-20 WD-40 in Olive or Black, #18-20 Zebra Midges, #18-20 Pheasant Tail, #18-20 Surface Emergers and #16-18 Scuds in Olive or Grey

-DRIES-
#18-20 Hatchmaster BWO, #18-20 Comparadun BWO and #20-26 Parachute Adams

Guide's Hint: Make sure your drifts are perfect, most of the fish will not move to eat a ball of fur, feather and metal.
