The Puerto Morelos Fish Report- The Marina El Cid, Cancun-Cozumel Area
9-18-2008
Larry Edwards
According to Armando Gutierrez, the manager for the Marina El Cid and
Puerto Morelos Sportfishing Fleet, the anglers are very few and far
between. This past week, they had only 3 fishing days for their
report that reflected 1 sailfish, 9 giant barracuda, 2 pargo, 2
sierra and 3 miscellaneous critters, (2 Peto and 1 Xcochin, whatever
those are?).
Puerto Morelos Climate: Partly cloudy days with temps from 76 nights to 95 daytime highs, with high humidity and some P.M. rain squalls.
Sea Conditions: Generally pretty good, with easterly winds at 10-12 knots and light PM wind chop.
Best Bait: Continues to be the ballyhoo, both rigged and unrigged baits.
