Family fun on Shasta Lake!
4-3-2019
Jeff Goodwin
Today I fished with the Bartch family who came up to Shasta Lake to catch some brown trout. We started a little later in the morning hoping for the rain to pass, but had no such luck. We did finish the day with no wind or rain which was a great! The bite has been really short and usually comes in two's. Today was no different and we ran into three bite periods all day. Fortunately, we found the late morning and afternoon brown bite and everyone got to land one. The fish are still up top and its likely to stay that way until the lake warms up a bit. We saw 52 degrees in the main body by days end thats a step in the right direction. The brown bite is still a little behind schedule for this time of the year, but it should turn on quickly when it does catch up. I have some available dates still in May if you want to get in on a chance of catching a big Shasta Lake brown trout!
