Beautiful day on Shasta Lake!

3-30-2019
Jeff Goodwin

Today Justin fished Shasta Lake with two new clients and although the morning bite was slow, he put in a full day and put some beautiful rainbows in the net!  The bite has been later in the day and the trout are still on top.  The absence of Shad in the main body of the lake has the trout feeding on Plankton which can be found on the surface on sunny days.  The lake is showing signs of life and with our next warm weather pattern, we should see warming water and an increase in the bites per day.

Jeff Goodwin is a full time Northern California fishing guide.  He guides year round for salmon, trout, steelhead, Kokanee, and bass on Northern California rivers and lakes. He fishes many bodies of water in the Redding area, but also guides the Sacramento River and Feather River during certain times of the year. Jeff can also be found on the California coast chasing ocean fresh King salmon and steelhead each year.
