Shogun Sportfishing Fish Report

Bruce A. Smith

Today the Shogun traveled south trolling and searching for a bite. Blind strikes on the occasional dorado and tuna put a few fish on deck but the action was slow. Late in the day Bruce spotted a few jumpers that turned out to be a big school of dorado on a kelp. It was crazy action resulting in many dodos boated and dozens released as well. They were still biting when we called it quits to make tomorrows destination. It was that good! This evening before dinner Capt Norm gave the group a few tips on tomorrows fishing. Yo-yo iron fishing, 40# line on a high speed reel or a lively sardine with a sliding egg sinker are the rigs of choice. Yellowtail beware the Shogun is coming to town!
