We started on the beach and found good water conditions and most of the spots we tried there were yellows, but they would not commit. We would hook a few right away but about the time we thought things were heating up, it would stop cold.
Of course... the last area we tried before we ran out of time was the steadiest - most everyone was able to scratch at least a couple of fish today. We are scrambling to gain some altitude in hopes of getting in on some of the great tuna fishing that the fleet has been enjoying.

7-14-2013Everyday we fish in our minds and we set a goal on what we would like to catch for the day. Today's goal was for everyone aboard to be able to take a nice wahoo home for the grill Unfortunately, we came up a couple short but there were many other anglers who were fortunate enough to land two or three. We arrived on the yellowtail grounds hoping to be able to break up the trip and just stop and fish. There has been pretty good sign of fish around but after daylight we saw very little. There are many reasons or excuses why the sign of fish vanished but what it comes down to - is that making a catch seemed like it would be hard to do.
