John Liechty Guide Report

What a great start to 2019! We have been catching a lot of quality bass during the month January and recently the action seems to have really picked up. Last week I landed an 8-pound largemouth on a big swimbait and over the weekend we boated numerous fish from 3 to 5-pounds.

The water temperature in some areas has begun to gradually warm and it is starting to feel like spring. A few fish are transitioning into shallow throughout the day, however many fish are still holding out deep. We have been covering a lot of water, fishing the main lake and major creek arms. The most consistent pattern has been jigs and shakeyheads fished down steeper banks. These areas can be fished from 5' to 55' feet with one cast. The next few months are some of my favorites and we are going to be catching some impressive largemouth and spotted bass. Join me on the water for an awesome fishing Xperience!

Josh Parris Guide Report

With the recent storms rolling in and out the post frontal or bluebird days can be a little slower but are still productive. Prefrontal and mid storms can be great times to really load the boat chasing shallow fish or catch a giant! On the bluebird days there are lots of schooled fish holding deep 30' to 60' that are great for numbers with and occasional decent one mixed in. The shallow fish aren't schooled in as large numbers but still seem to be holding in smaller wolf packs. Where you find one there's typically a few more to be caught. The deeper fish can be caught on most finesse tactics, but reaction has also been a great way to target them. My finesse line up has been mostly jigs, darter heads, wacky rigged stick baits and drop shot. For reaction I've been switching up the weight of the baits based on depth but sticking with the same type of baits. For the 25' and deeper range under spins, a rigs and Swimbaits have been good producers. Above 25' I use the above mentioned as well as throw in rip baits and glide baits. Over the next month the big spotted bass should really start to gorge in preparation for there upcoming spawn. A great go to pattern for me has been fishing the small irregularities and indentations on creek channel banks. If your looking for an in-depth break down of how to catch them with great day of fishing you can book a trip with me.
