Lake Don Pedro Fishing Report

My buddy Justin and I launched out of Blue Oaks camp ground located at 10200 Bonds Flat Road, La Grange, California.
Shortly after launching just after sunrise, we ran towards the Rogers Creek arm and began graphing main lake points. We located fish actively feeding on bait in the 30-60 foot range.
The fish we located weren’t interested in feeding on moving baits so we immediately trasitioned to slower more subtle presentations. Drop shots, ned rigs, jigs, and senkos were all productive presentations on the fish we located.
As the sun came up over head we started focusing on North facing banks in the Upper Bay area of the lake. The fish in that area preferred 3/4 ounce football head jig in a brown pattern. These fish averaged around three pounds and they were way more aggressive then the shad feeders from Rogers.
Later on in the afternoon the wind began to blow out of the west, so we decided to fish western facing banks. We caught several fish in those areas on a variety of baits however the quest for big fish was never met.
Overall we had a fun day catching lots of fish on a variety of baits. I think next trip should be interesting with several storms scheduled to hit the area. If your interested in booking a guide trip feel free to email me atbigbasssniper85@gmail.com
