Shogun Sportfishing Fish Report 04-15-2008

Bruce A. Smith

This afternoon we had good action fishing yellowtail here at Alijos Rocks. Several larger fish were landed, they bit live bait as well as yo-yo iron. Our weather is fair, the wind came up a little but its by no means rough. The Shogun is going to stay put here next to the rocks to see if a night bite develops. This has been a good start to our offshore fishing season, Norman plans to give the rocks another try tomorrow and then possible run up toward Cedros Island to try our hand at the forked tails there.

We return to San Diego next Sunday during the "Day At The Docks" celebration. The Shogun will be running 3 consecutive San Clemente Island weekend trips, the first leaving Friday April 25. These trips are a great opportunity to fish local waters in comfort. Our schedule will then shift offshore again and I'm sure the buzz word will be ALBACORE!

Fishing for a living,

Big yellows often bite here at night, and we are going...... Read More

Yellowtail and tuna are the target species, reels were serviced and spooled up with fresh line today. Right now the cooks are serving a nice chicken dinner, perhaps an after dinner movie and its lights out because tomorrow is going to be a full day of fishing....... Read More
