Pit River Fishing Report

The Fly Shop
This river is finally cooling off and we can recommend fishing it again. Recent reports have been excellent fishing on all sections. The types of insects you will see are highly dependent upon the section you are fishing. Up top, below Lake Britton on Pit 3, you will see some caddis happening, midges and baetis. In the Pit 4 stretch on down to the lake, look for Hydropsyche Caddis, baetis and stones being consumed subsurface. The cooling nights should bring out the isonychias soon. The occasional October Caddis and large stones in the system means you shouldn't be without a large nymph tied under your indicator.
