Despite several storms moving through the southland this week, anglers managed to get in some great fishing. Trout bite has been excellent this week with anglers bagging lots of limits and big rainbows. Power bait ( especially chartruse, sherbert, spring green and rainbow), night crawlers, jigs, lures and senkos, all caught limits. Hot spots included the eastern logged shore and the western shore from the bridge to the pump house as well as the western and northern shores of lake 3.

Catches of the Week: Thirteen year old Hesperia angler, Andrew Padilla scored a 4 lb 11 ozs rainbow on chartruse power bait while fishing the eastern logged shore of lake 3. Another Hesperia angler, eight year old Brandon Dagg caught a 3 lbs 11 ozs ruby red steelhead on the eastern shore of lake 3. Chris Larkin of Alta Loma caught a 4 lb 7 oz rainbow on an orange power worm near the bridge of lake 2. Jason Ocull of Apple Valley caught a 3 lbs trout to limit on the eastern shore of lake 3 using a rainbow kastmaster.Tom Nieves of West Corvina reeled in a 4 lbs 1 ozs and 1 lbs 8ozs trout on the same pole at the same time using a marshmellow and mealworm combo and a marshmellow and power worm combo while fishing near the bridge of lake 2.

The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round.
