Trout action was still slower than usual but anglers managed to catch some nice sized rainbows and limits. Most anglers used power bait ( especially rainbow, chartruse, corn yellow and spring green) and night crawlers ( inflated and doused with attractant). Jigs, lures and senkos didn't entice the trout much this week due to the murkier water from the previous rain run off. But this week showed improvement and the lakes are regaining their clarity. Hot spots included the eastern logged shore and the grassy point of lake 3 as well as the western and southeastern shore of lake 2.

Catches of the Week: Brian Maruo of Azusa caught a limit and a 4 lbs 4 ozs rainbow using a vintage Thomas Buoyant Cyclone he borrowed from his dad's old tackle box. Maruo fished the inlets of lake 2. Pete Centola of Apple Valley caught a 2 lbs 15 ozs rainbow on an orange power worm while fishing the eastern logged shore of lake 3. Jason Ocull of Apple Valley caught a 3 lbs 2 ozs trout on a rainbow kastmaster on the eastern shore of lake 3. Steven Jackson of Rialto caught a 4 lbs 2 ozs trout on chartruse power bait at the grassy point of lake 3. David Strickland of Rancho Cucamonga reeled in a nice 4 lbs 3 ozs trout using rainbow power bait while fishing the western shore of lake 2. Prize Day winners included: Heaviest Trout- Jason Ocull 4 lbs 6 ozs, Gloria Moreno 4 lbs 5 ozs, Wyate Hunt 3 lbs 2 ozs. Heaviest Limit- Jason Ocull 10 llbs 4 ozs, Wyate Hunt 9 lbs 5 ozs, Ren Harmon 8 lbs 11 ozs.

The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round.
