Very good night time yellowtail action on beautiful, 35 – 45 pound class fish. For anyone who dared drop down easy bites were to be had for the better part of three hours. Such opportunity totaled into a darn impressive score. That accomplished we set to the day of tuna fishing with fair success. Once again the size average of the fish more than made up for any deficiency in numbers. 90 – 150 was the theme of the day, with most fish coming in around 120 – 130. Not nearly the showing as the prior afternoon there was still plenty around to work on. In conditions too calm at times to present offerings by air needless to say we weren't complaining. This is a setting only described as heavenly. Flat calm, warm, currnet just right for fishing; we take the day's bounty with gratitude and eagerly await tomorrow. Photos for the day feature long time Royal Star master angler Dave Heulitt with his trophy 155, and venturous angler Ian Parker who boldly chucked out this popper behind the long rod and Shimano Tranx only to encounter something way bigger than anticipated. Not one to shirk a fight, Ian pulled up his drawers and set to catching this beautiful 133 the old fashioned way. Very nice job!!!

Now it our job to convert that sign into catching success. Departing on the annual Floyd Abbott seven day voyage today we can certainly point to this group of...... Read More
