Living up to it's reputation the outside island delivered today in the quality department. Not typically a big quantity affair the grade of what is being caught in this zone usually more than makes up for it. In today's case the tuna that are here were reluctant to bite. But they gave up enough individuals in the 70 – 130# class, and handed anglers their rear end enough times, to make the passage well worth the effort. Premium yellowtail in the mix added color and variety to the whole picture that is absolutely consistent with the fishing magic this destination represents. It is a coveted opportunity. Flat calm conditions – grease – added to the overall setting that can only be described as an angler's nirvana. So we settle in for the next few days getting a feel for the area and working toward accumulating a respectable, responsible catch. All the components are here.
