The bass bite still going strong here, most fish are in the 2lb. to 4lb. range, with the occasional 5lb. to 7lb. largie in the mix. Small swimbaits, jigs, texas rigs, and drop shot are just a few of the successful baits and techniques. Crappie can be had by trolling small minnow imitations, then tossing mini jig/ nibble combos once a school is located. Some red ear showed around the marina docks, red worms, and mealworms accounted for most of the action. Catfish also biting well for those targeting them, shallow coves, and cut mackerel is the ticket for the whiskerfish.

Bass fishing is good all over the lake, as the fish have moved up on beds. Drop shot, jgs, and small swimbaits all caught fish. The water clarity is somewhat poor, so sight fishing can be difficult. Bass action was a bit tougher this past week, although most everyone targeting largemouth were able to scratch out some nice catches. Drop shot, jigs, and swimbaits were the top producers. The long time crappie bite slowed later in the week, possibly due to the cold front that passed through.
