Another good go at them today, mainly in the early afternoon, but not the big numbers overall on jumbos. Man of fortune Steve Masuda picked off another 275, to go along with his first day 336, easily vaulting this voyage into the “trip of a lifetime” category for one whom has put in his time, and then some. The remainder of the fish landed today were in the category of 70 – 140 pounds with a handful of standout 160 – 185's. Along with those dandies a nuisance batch of small fish infiltrated the previously “clean” area that we were fishing distributing lots of bites in the process. Truth be told they replenished the chunk bucket splendidly so aside from causing a few “train wreck” tangles we were pleased for them. Heading into the back stretch one more full day tomorrow will tell a new tale. Thus far there has been one fairly common theme to this program. However every day has produced a unique twist. It's what I/we fishermen love about fishing. In order to achieve one must bring their “A” game at all times. Less ability, motivation, preparation, constant vigilance and attention one will get their rear end handed to them out here all too often. One who is clearly on the opposite end of the above described is Royal Star angler Dave Coleman. Though only his second voyage to the lower precincts Dave has consistently produced through a combination of effort and attention; the man is at the rail fishing all the time. Now with two beautiful trophies in his bag earned the hard way I'd say that there may be more to Dave's success than just luck. Here is the man with his 235 hanging and his 259 coming through the gate. Fine Job!
