Hey folks-
We stared in the local tuna grounds that have been so good to us this year. Well we happen to be up hear in the down day after the bite. We saw the writing in the wall and bailed out to the west 50 miles where our spotter pilot friend Carl had seen some fish. About 1300 two miles shy of where he saw the fish we had a large so at school of bluefin and it reacted right away. We picked at the bft for about an hour then it turned to straight good grade yellowfin tuna of which we caught limits. It was a pretty amazing drift that lasted till dark. We are going to stay here tonight and hope our last day is as good as this one. Wish us luck!

We stared looking for kelps off Colonet in flat calm seas and 77 degree water! Pretty incredible how far this warm water has pushed up; its only September! We found plenty of kelps some with fish and some dry. For how many fish you saw on the kelps they sure didn’t want to bite very well. We scratched on the kelps till mid afternoon then started heading up to the tuna grounds. Wish us luck! ...... Read More
