We accomplished objective #1: positioning one and all for a shot at quality bluefin tuna. Objective #2: one and all landing a quality bluefin tuna was not achieved. Almost, we had plenty of chances, and saw abundant volume of fish, but once again the maddening devils refused to bite with any regularity or abandon leaving at least a handful of hard working anglers holding the bag. A theme all too common this season in the offshore tuna precincts we took the good and bad in stride enjoying the pursuit in beautiful weather. There was plenty to see and fish for so the day passed with a wealth of active time at the rail. A success albeit one in relative proportion. Little motivation to relocate or pursue alternative species dictates the final push tomorrow. We'll be hard at it 'til days end again targeting this beautiful grade bluefin and yellowfin tuna on the offshore grounds. Photos today feature first time long range angler John Arp with his first bluefin tuna taken on the red hot Shimano “Flat Fall” lure, and ultra long range veteran, master angler Jonathon Mitsumori who got the job done both on the lures and live baits today.
