A pretty nice start here departing on the second annual “Catalina Air Harbor” four day voyage this year with a full spectrum of angling skill sets on board. From first time long rangers to uber veteran's with giant yellowfin triumphs on their resume's the group immediately melded into one when fishing began a mere few hours after departure. It was a fine afternoon.
Calm seas, superb fishing conditions, and steady action on 14 – 22# yellowtail made a day of it beginning this run on a high note. A welcome bonus to be sure the extra time at the rail established new friendships as everyone joined in the fun and recognized the good fortune bestowed upon us. An extension of the complete unpredictability of this “El Nino” fueled 2015 season, when early successes like this are prone to happen, we still do not fail to appreciate the bonus for exactly what it is. This season has been full of local adventures and success anomalous to be sure. All I can say is we'll take it. Rest assured that stories of this fabled time frame will be shared well into all of our golden years.
For now though focus remains in the present; one successful afternoon does not a long range trip make. Our first full day of fishing tomorrow will again key on variety likely including both coastal and offshore species. Photos today feature anglers Gary Morgan and Gary Ishii both pleased with their first yellowtail of the afternoon.
If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619) 224-4764 to get in on the action.
