Things could be on the upswing here; a lot more sign and life scattered throughout several different zones gives reason for one to feel strongly optimistic. The fact that what we saw was in a more enthusiastic biting mode didn't hurt either. Just about everywhere we tried we caught at least a little; and when targeting trophy yellowfin a little goes a long way, especially when you're the lucky one.

So continues the effort in beautiful fishing conditions. Flat calm seas, just enough breeze to keep things cool, and water so blue and clear it speaks to a fisherman's soul. We are in the right place at the right time. Production or otherwise this is the big fish angler's Magic Kingdom. Photos today feature Royal Star legend Rudy Scott with his 223, and newly initiated to the world of Royal Star giant yellowfin tuna fishing angler Kirk Nakamura embracing his first jumbo, a hearty 186.

Tough scratching is what it amounted to - a lot of time at the...... Read More
