The fleet enjoyed another great day of giant yellowfin tuna fishing on the grounds. The day started off with 30-60lb fish and in the afternoon we got on the trophies. For those lucky enough to be fishing on one of the long range fishing boats right now, it is truly a unique experience. There are plenty of locations in the world where these large fish are caught - but not like this. To pull up on a spot of 150-350lbers jumping out of the water right on the stern while the anglers cast live bait right into the middle of the mess is a scene that cannot be easily duplicated. Our good fortune of landing a large percentage of the big fish we hooked was due to end. We got into the zone and had a couple of stops late where we had our shots at fish.

One stop we hooked a dozen fish and for one reason or another all except for two just came off.

By now it was a race against the sun in order to find another stop which we lucked into right before dark. Our streak seemed to continue as we hooked four fish in the first ten minutes with two of them coming off after extended battles. The first one landed was a 180lber and the last fight took Erik Kinoshita well into the dark.

Right about the time we were considering today's off-luck, our group's good faith persevered with a happy ending.

With the help of the entire crew, Erik proudly poses with his 359lber with everybody's smile telling the tale.
