Back on track here today; one poignant event setting the momentum in favorable motion. Exactly what we needed, at the perfect juncture in the voyage; good times improved by excellent fishing. And to augment the huge improvement in average size and species the wind and seas, that have been throwing a tantrum over the past couple of days, returned to our favorite state by mid morning.

All's well now; good fishing throughout the day on beefy, twenty five pound class yellowtail and a ripper morning hit on beautiful white sea bass put us in the right frame of mind. As so often happens in fishing one good thing leads to another. The true test now comes tomorrow. Production offshore in the lower zones is a challenge since June that no one has overcome. Puny tuna are abundant, but of late no significant quantities of desirable gamesters have been found. It is our turn now.

Photo today features new Royal Star angler Yvette Cooley expertly illustrating the average size yellowtail today and tremendous satisfaction that accompanies the triumph.

But today's satisfaction was of a different caliber. It was good, a great time of getting lots of bites and pulling non...... Read More

Yellowtail, small, medium, and large, made up the bulk of the action while various bottom grabbers provided a few yucks and smiles. Releasing the majority of the small fish in favor of higher roads beyond the ultimate end was well worth the travel time invested. Variety mode along the spectacular coast is the call for us now, and perhaps the...... Read More
