A modest starter kit shaking out the kinks with more than a few handfuls of 15 - 20# yellowfin on our afternoon of departure. One has to love the present set up. Between the local sign of yellowfin tuna, primo weather this stretch of water is known for, and consistent availability of bigger bluefin on the American side of the border benevolent fortune is a prevailing local theme long overdue.

Making hay while the sun shines is the present offshore strategy here. Overall the fish somewhat took the afternoon off preferring to jump and frolic rather than bite with abandon. The potential is here, no mistaking that from the visual spread of fish currently spanning over thirty miles, they just need to slip back into the full biting mode if we are to see it as we prefer.

Ample time and perfect weather are the foundation we presently work from. The Humboldt Fishin' Lumberjacks are back at it celebrating a six year anniversary of joining together annually to ply the offshore waters aboard Royal Star. Between this group of exceptional individuals and fishing potential we are poised for success; now for our quarry to agree.
