Another good day of angling on 70-150lb yft in balmy flat calm weather. Classic tuna fishing with the best action coming in the morning and evenings while midday provides a slow scratch. We did have one shot at a cow but unfortunately the hook pulled. We will be sitting tight here with two more days to fish.

This might sound ridiculous but a very effective method this trip has been pinning multiple small sardines on a large hook with a 1/2 oz slider in the dark. Many years prior Captain Brian Sims dubbed this method "The Chandelier" when night fishing for White Sea Bass. Equally effective for night tuna, and perpetually humorous to say, it is well worth a try if you're on a trip and fishing with smaller bait.
Robb Lane shows off a 216 in today's shot.

01/30/14 Flat calm weather and good fishing on 60-100lb yft at the bank today but aside from a 206 we didn't get our shots at plus size fish. Incredible sign with this exceptional weather as we could see fish up to 100lbs blowing out on flyers for miles in all directions at times. We will give this at least one more day hoping for a better shot at cows tomorrow. Roger Nies with a 220 is today's shot. Randy Toussaint Photo Here......... Read More

01/29/14 Great weather and steady fishing is the report from the Bank today. Upon arrival this morning we started scratching right away but it wasn't until the afternoon when the bite picked up and the grade of fish improved. We ended up keeping 44 yft from 70 to 180lbs with two more making the 200lb mark. The bulk of the fish were taken on the good old fashioned 100lb flyline gear which made for a fun day of angling.
